Whatever Floats Your Boat!
This year, we’re bringing the spectacle of decorated floats back to Falmouth Carnival! Whether you’re a local business, a community group, a school, or just a group of friends with a creative spark, now’s your chance to design and showcase your own eye-catching float.
A float is typically a decorated vehicle or trailer (up to 7.5 tonnes) designed to reflect a theme, celebrate a cause, or simply bring some fun to the parade! Think vibrant displays, imaginative costumes, and plenty of energy—the more creative, the better!
There are important vehicle specifications and conditions to meet in order to enter a float in the Falmouth Carnival. You can find out more and register your float HERE!
Fill Your Boots!
The heart of Falmouth Carnival has always been its fantastic marching parade, and we want YOU to be part of it!
Get creative with your costumes, banners, and routines as you bring the theme ‘Fill Your Boots’ to life. Whether you interpret this literally with oversized boots or take it as a call to celebrate local pride, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

No Pane, No Gain!
As part of the Falmouth Carnival celebrations, we invite all shops and traders in the town to decorate their windows and take part in the annual Window Dressing Competition – let’s transform Falmouth into a colourful spectacle for everyone to enjoy!
There are three window categories, so businesses of all sizes can take part:
LARGE – over 2.5m width
MEDIUM– 1.5 to 2.5m width
SMALL – under 1.5m width
For each window category, there will be three awards: a Carnival Window Star plus two Highly Commended.
Windows will be judged on Impact, Effort, Originality and most of all – Carnival Spirit! This years themes for your interpretation are “Whatever Floats Your Boat” and “Fill Your Boots”.
The judges will have a close look at your efforts on the morning of Saturday 9th August and winners will be announced on the Falmouth Carnival facebook page.
To register your business for the 2025 Window Dressing Competition, please complete the entry form by Friday, 4th July 2025. A map of participants will be created so visitors can admire the displays throughout the town!
